SAF INTRADISC PLUS INTEGRAL
Especially in the trailer area: The SAF INTRADISC plus INTEGRAL has a two-piece brake disc that is one of a kind worldwide. This design principle protects the material and prolongs its service life.
Proven over decades in the trailer area: The special design principle of the SAF INTRADISC plus INTEGRAL protects the material and significantly improves the service life of the brake disc.
Unlike conventional brake discs, the SAF INTEGRAL is a two-piece brake disc. It is manufactured in composite casting from different, specially matched materials and thus achieves a significantly higher economic efficiency in the trailer area.
The unique design principle prolongs the service life of the pads and the disc and, at the same time, achieves:

Unique Design
As the first trailer axle manufacturer in the world, SAF-HOLLAND grants a special guarantee against continuous cracks in brake discs in trailers.
500,000 km or 3 years on the 22.5' disc.
350,000 km or 2 years on the 19.2' disc.
If the disc has to be replaced ahead of schedule due to continuous cracks, we will absorb the costs for a new brake disc (without labor and workshop costs), as outlined in the SAF-HOLLAND guarantee conditions.
Positioned for Protection
The specially coordinated shock absorber with specific characteristics is positioned in the center of the hanger bracket and with-in the functional suspension arm, thus protecting it from stone chipping and other road debris.
Driving Stability and Safety
Our specially designed 3D bushing element is integrated into the functional suspension arm and provides an optimum of ride performance.
Maintenance Free for Life
Our design incorporates the functional suspension arms and axle beam into one unitized and maintenance free component. This indestructible design provides additional benefits such as: no extra mounting parts, such as axle seats and U-bolts, no re-torquing of screws and nuts.
Light-Weight
The very narrow hanger bracket is symmetrically designed. This saves weight and allows easy installation.
Patented INTEGRAL-DISC
The INTEGRAL disc is cast onto a splined adapter ring and bolted to the wheel hub. The connection between the adapter ring and the brake disc has absolutely no Play – without the two parts being fused together. This is the advantage: By Composite casting of disc and adapter, the disc can expand radially and contract again during cooling down.
The dreaded hot spots in conventional brake discs, which can result in stresses in the material and possible cracks, up to the failure of the disc, are avoided – and:
Since the braking surfaces stay absolutely flat in every operating state, the pads last far longer.
SAFE-GUARD-DESIGN
The patented SAFE-GUARD-DESIGN of the functional suspension arm reliably protects the brake chambers from damage.
Excellent Corrosion Protection
We use great care in long-term corrosion protection on particularly exposed parts, such as hubs, hub caps or screw connections as well as wheel bolts and nuts.
Optimized with Factory Standards
Standard features include: uniform bearings, ABV-preparation, integrated rim system, specific weight reduction, cathodic dip coating process of axle and wheel hub.
INTEGRAL Advantages

Continuous usage and journeys on dirty and wet ground surfaces are one of the reasons for corrosion damage to vehicles. The axles are particularly exposed to these external influences. The new zinc-plated axle is significantly more resistant to corrosion than conventional coated axles.
The secret lies in a multi-stage process which significantly increases protection against corrosion: The axle is sand-blasted and coated with zinc and aluminium using a special zinc spray. An additional zinc-based primer together with a grey top coat prevent the zinc-oxide from blooming. If small areas of minor damage do appear on the surface over time, the axle’s base material still remains fully protected thanks to the active cathodic corrosion protection combined with the zinc coating.
SAF-HOLLAND is the first manufacturer to offer a zinc-sprayed axle in the 9 t range for a significant increase in the operating efficiency of your vehicles.
